Austin gets reserve-team run-out

Charlie Austin featured for Swindon`s reserves on Tuesday afternoon as he steps up his recovery from a dislocated shoulder. The striker enjoyed his first competitive action since sustaining the injury against Southampton a little over four weeks ago, coming just a day after he was an unused substitute in Town`s 2-1 derby triumph over Bristol Rovers. Despite his inclusion in Monday`s matchday 18, manager Danny Wilson insisted Austin was well short of match fitness and "there to make up the numbers". But he was pleased to see the youngster, along with the returning Alan Sheehan and David Prutton, get some crucial game time at the Madejski Stadium in a match the Robins lost 4-3. Wilson told Swindon`s official website: "He`s got a good 20 minutes under his belt here and that will have done him a world of good in his recovery. "The result doesn`t matter, it was a valuable exercise for a good number of players who need those minutes."
