WITH just weeks to go until the FIFA World Cup kicks off in Brazil, final preparations are being made for the tournament as the world awaits the tournament. But what about smaller nations from across the globe who are outside the FIFA rankings, what will they be doing?
The answer is here. They are gathering to play in Ostersund Saepmie, Sweden as the ConIFA World Football Cup kicks off showcasing hidden talent to the globe.
The tournament, commencing on the 31st May, will see twelve nations coming together with nations represented through Abkhazia, Countea De Nissa, Ellan Vannin, Nagorno Karabakh, Padania, South Ossetia, Arameans Suryoye, Darfur United, Kurdistan, Occitania, Sapmi and Tamil Eelam as non-FIFA ranked football captures the imaginations for the love of the game.
Darfur United kick off the tournament against Padania, whilst much fancied Kurdistan face Arameans Suryoye on the opening day of the eight day tournament.
Tournament debutants, Ellan Vannin, the national team from the Isle of Man, will be looking to build on their recent impressive form in World football following their 10-0 victory over Monaco earlier this year as they face Nagorno Karabakh.
