Sweden's Sebastien Larsson is determined to win a place in his country's starting line-up for the Euro 2008 encounter with Greece on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Birmingham City star played in the warm-up games against Slovenia and Ukraine and could oust the more experienced Christian Wilhelmsson on the right wing.
Larsson said: "It was my birthday a couple of days ago but I wasn't able to celebrate. I'll do that after the tournament. But being picked in the first game would be the best birthday gift.
"Getting the three points as well, of course, would be the icing on the cake.
"We have a lot of good players in the squad and a lot of players who have played a lot more than me. But you know that doesn't matter.
"Of course I want to play but it's up to the manager to pick whoever he wants and we go along with it.
"It's a huge tournament and a lot of people are watching, but I am just focusing on Sweden now and we will have to wait and see what happens (about a possible move away from Birmingham) afterwards."
