Tate pledges his future to Swans
The 26-year-old defender put pen to paper to a new deal earlier this week before capping a memorable few days by grabbing a late equaliser against Watford on Saturday. Former Swansea boss Roberto Martinez famously said he himself would only leave the club if he was forced out having been sold by the Welsh outfit during his playing days as club captain. However, he shocked fans this summer by quitting the Liberty Stadium for Premier League Wigan. Yet Tate, who has played more than 200 games for the Swans, told BBC Sport: "I know the manager before said he'd have to be forced but I will have to be forced out. "I love the club, I love area and its the area I want to live in when I pack in playing."
