Tate blow troubles Swans

Swansea City will be without Alan Tate for up to six weeks after the defender was found to have fractured a knee-cap.

Tate had been troubled by a painful knee during the past few weeks and scans revealed a more serious injury which will keep him sidelined until October.

"I've tried to come back three times in training," he said. "I thought it was going to be a bruise but I've just got to carry on now.

"I carried on in training and probably made it worse but that's how I am. I know what it is now.

"Hopefully after the six weeks I'll have a few games in the reserves and then try and get back in the first team with the rest of the lads."
