Swansea line up Kuqi deal

Swansea City are on the verge of signing former Crystal Palace forward Shefki Kuqi on an 18-month deal.

The 33-year-old has agreed terms with the Liberty Stadium outfit and the club are now awaiting clearance from the German FA and Football League.

He has featured for German Second Division side TuS Koblenz this term and has impressed enough to return to Britain after spells with Stockport County, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich Town and Blackburn Rovers.

Speaking to the club's official website, Kuqi said: "I'm moving to a club that is doing really well.

"I had a good game at the Liberty Stadium for Crystal Palace last season and scored one of the goals. Hopefully this will be a lucky ground for me.

"I know Swansea like to play the game the right way and whether they play one or two up front I don't mind.

"I like to put myself about and I can't wait to get started. I'm buzzing."
