Swansea confirm Bodde blow

Swansea City have confirmed that Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde will miss the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury sustained in the 3-2 defeat by Birmingham City.

The 26-year-old, who is a target for several Premier League clubs, is expected to be sidelined for around six months, after an MRI scan revealed the severity of the problem.

Swans physio Richie Evans told the club's official website: "Ferrie has ruptured his cruciate ligament and torn his cartilage in his left knee.

"Although he will see another consultant next week, he will be out for around six months.

"It will rule him out for the rest of the season and everyone, including Ferrie, is devastated."
