Swans stand firm on Bodde
12 Jun 2008 - 07:38:19
Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has warned that his club will not budge from their £2million valuation for midfielder Ferrie Bodde.
The 26-year-old Dutchman is being pursued by Derby County, but the Rams have bid less than half of the Swans' valuation to date, while City recently rejected a transfer request from Bodde.
Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post: "We believe we are being very sensible.
"While we take on board other clubs' opinions, the fact remains that Ferrie is our player and we can ask for whatever size fee we like.
"£2million is not a lot when you consider Aaron Ramsey is apparently going to Arsenal for £5million.
"You wonder how many games he's going to play for them, yet Ferrie could go and play at that level tomorrow, so £2million is cheap.
"Our stance remains the same on Ferrie - until someone meets our valuation for him, he will not be going anywhere."
