Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has revealed that the League One club have made an approach to sign John Hartson on loan from West Brom.
The Wales international has been told he is free to seek a loan move after falling down the pecking order under Baggies boss Tony Mowbray.
But although Hartson has made no secret of his desire to play for his hometown club before he retires, Jenkins doesn't believe the former Celtic, West Ham, Arsenal and Wimbledon striker will sign for the Swans just yet.
"We've made enquiries about a number of players and John is one of them," he told the Swansea Evening Post.
"West Brom gave us the go-ahead last week and we've talked about it but it hasn't gone any further than that.
"Nobody has said no to us, but there are a few clubs talking to John and his agent."
