Swansea City boss Kenny Jackett has moved quickly to cope with Tom Williams' absence by snapping up the Birmingham City defender Marcos Painter on loan.

The 20-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Blues in the summer and has already made 11 first-team appearances for the club.

He made his debut for Steve Bruce's side just over one year ago in the Carling Cup win at Scunthorpe United.

Williams had a hernia operation on Monday which will keep him on the sidelines for up to six weeks.
