Swans draft in defender Edgar

Swansea City have bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of Burnley's David Edgar on a month's loan.

The 22-year-old Canadian has featured just six times for the Clarets this season and linked up with the Swans before their shock 5-1 drubbing at Blackpool on Tuesday evening.

Clarets boss Brian Laws told his club's official website: "I think it's a great chance for David to get some games because he's obviously frustrated.

"I can't fit him in at this moment in time, but David is very much in our thoughts and I think getting him first-team games with Swansea, who are playing really good football and in a position where they are winning consistently, is a fantastic opportunity.

"I think it's a win-win situation we can only benefit from it and so will David."
