Swans clinch Kuqi coup

Swansea City have completed the signing of Shefki Kuqi after the 33-year-old striker finally received international clearance from the German FA.

The former Finland international moves to the Liberty Stadium from TuS Koblenz on a free transfer and has penned an 18-month contract with the Swans.

The former Stockport County, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace man said on his return to the Championship: "I'm moving to a club that is doing really well.

"I had a good game at the Liberty Stadium for Crystal Palace last season and scored one of the goals. Hopefully this will be a lucky ground for me.

"I know Swansea like to play the game the right way and whether they play one or two up front I don't mind. I like to put myself about and I can't wait to get started. I'm buzzing."
