Swans agree to Allen loan

Swansea City have allowed promising midfielder Joe Allen to join Blue Square Premier League side Wrexham on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old, who has made 16 first-team appearances for the Swans, knows Red Dragons boss Dean Saunders from his time with the Wales Under-21 squad and is looking forward to his spell at the Racecourse Ground.

He told the Swans' official website: "It will be good to get some more game time under my belt.

"I obviously know the manager from the Welsh set-up. He's got the same philosophy as the gaffer (Roberto Martinez) in that he wants to play football the right way.

"He's got a good reputation in the game and has the utmost respect from the senior boys in the Welsh squad.

"He's also got a wealth of experience which hopefully I can tap into during my time at the Racecourse.''
