Scotland cleared for Swans

Swansea City have finally completed the protracted transfer of Jason Scotland after the Trinidad & Tobago international was granted a new work permit by the Home Office.

The 28-year-old forward moves to the Liberty Stadium on a two-year deal from St Johnstone, after scoring 41 goals in only 82 appearances for the Perth-based side and Swans boss Roberto Martinez is delighted with his latest acquisition.

He told the club's official website: "It's absolutely fantastic news.

"I'm already excited about working with him. He'll be a quality acquisition to our squad.

"Goalscorers are the most precious commodity in football and I believe we've captured one of the highest calibre.

"He has a magic touch and can make something out of nothing. He'll certainly entertain and excite the crowds at the Liberty Stadium and beyond."
