Martinez waits on new keeper

A new goalkeeper is the priority for Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez when the emergency loan window opens next Monday.

Former Dunfermline shot-stopper Dorus de Vries is the only senior keeper currently on the Swans' books and Martinez failed to make any new signings before the transfer window closed on Monday.

However, he told the South Wales Evening Post: "We all know we need to strengthen the goalkeeping area but the deadline doesn't affect us at all.

"You can use the emergency loan system, which is available from September 8, or you can take someone who is unattached, which is always an option.

"We have to make sure we get the right person in, and it takes time to see players' personalities and also their contractual situations."
