Martinez rues Swansea slip
09 Mar 2009 - 12:38:28
Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez was unhappy that his side let a lead slip in their 1-1 weekend draw at Nottingham Forest.
Jason Scotland gave the Swans the lead just past the hour mark at the City Ground, but Forest rescued a point through Lewis McGugan 14 minutes from time.
Martinez said afterwards: "It was a superb game of football. It is another point gained. At this stage of the season each one counts for a lot.
"I felt the hardest thing for us was to score the first goal and, once we had done that, it was disappointing that we allowed Forest back into the game.
"We knew it was going to be difficult. Forest are on a good run of form and had enjoyed two fantastic results prior to playing us. They are playing with a lot of confidence.
"I am very pleased with the performance, but a little disappointed in the fact that we normally have higher standards once we go 1-0 up."
