Martinez excited by strike duo

Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez is confident that new signing Stephen Dobbie will forge a strong partnership in attack with Jason Scotland.

Dobbie previously played with Scotland at St Johnstone and Martinez is certain that the pair will enjoy their reunion at the Liberty Stadium.

He told the South Wales Evening Post: "You are talking about two players who can understand each other fantastically well.

"They were together at St Johnstone and they know each other really well. We hope to rekindle that and polish it.

"I would say Jason can only play that central role or just in behind as a shadow striker, but Stephen can play centrally on his own, he can play with another striker or he can play out wide.

"He is a clinical finisher who can play in any position up front."
