Late penalty drama hurts Sousa
17 Feb 2010 - 15:38:54
Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa has admitted that Plymouth's twice-taken penalty frustrated him as his side conceded a late equaliser on Tuesday night.
Jamie Mackie saw his penalty saved by Dorus De Vries only for the linesman to signal that the Dutch keeper had moved from the goal line.
Referee Keith Hill ordered it to be retaken and although de Vries saved Damien Johnson's spot-kick, he followed in the rebound, to the despair of the Swans players.
Speaking to the club's official website, Sousa said: "Everyone in the ground could see what happened.
"I have watched the replay several times and Dorus' foot is on the line.
"He did well to save to save them both. They were fantastic saves, but sometimes things go against you.
"I thought there were some very poor decisions against us in the second-half. Hopefully they will go for us in the future."
