Swansea City defender Izzy Iriekpen has agreed a new contract with the club that will keep him at the Vetch Field until June 2005.

The former West ham United trainee joined the Swans in August after enjoying loan spells with Cambridge United and Leyton Orient last season.

The 21-year-old has been a regular in Brian Flynn's side and has already played in 16 games for the Nationwide Division Three promotion hopefuls this season.

"We are delighted that we have been able to agree terms," Swans chairman Huw Jenkins told the club's official website.

"Izzy has impressed during his three months at the club and we are pleased that he joins a growing number of young players who we consider to be the future of this club."
