Dyer advises Swans team-mates

Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer has urged his team-mates to keep their cool when the hard tackles start to fly in on them during their Championship clashes.

His advice comes after the club picked up a charge from the Football Association of Wales following a mass confrontation during Saturday's game at Derby County.

The Swans won 1-0 thanks to a Shefki Kuqi effort but the game was marred by two dismissals.

Derby's Jay McEveley was sent-off before Gorka Pintado went through the back of Robbie Savage, sparking a melee and he then received his marching orders.

Speaking to reporters, Dyer said: "Sometimes we need to be a bit clever and know when things are right and when they are not but I think emotions start running high when the first tackle goes in and then the rest start going in.

"We've just got to try and keep a cool head in those situations.

"There was a couple of sending-offs, which is bad for both teams, but we did well to compose ourselves after that and hold on to the win.

"Derby is always going to be a hard place to come to. We just had to grit our teeth and make sure we came away with a win."
