Dobbie commits to Swans stay

Striker Stephen Dobbie has ended talk of a move away from Swansea City by agreeing a new three-year contract at the Liberty Stadium.

The 27-year-old ended last season on loan at Blackpool and had been linked with a return to Bloomfield Road, having struggled to make his mark during his first season with the Swans.

Dobbie told the club's official website: "I'm delighted. Discussions have been going on for a couple of weeks.

"I know there have been a few enquiries from Blackpool along the way, but I'm just glad I've put pen to paper and can concentrate on my football with Swansea City.

"I didn't find the interest from Blackpool too unsettling because it means you must be doing something right when other teams want to buy you.

"I went there, did well and have fond memories of the place. But it's all about Swansea for me."
