Davies set for dream debut

Teenage full-back Ben Davies is set to fulfil a lifelong dream when he makes his first start for Swansea against Barnsley in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Swans' academy after joining the club at the age of eight, and made his debut as a late substitute in Saturday's 3-0 win over West Ham. With manager Michael Laudrup set to ring the changes, Davies is now in line for his first start.
And, having been brought up in a family of Swans' fans, he admits it will be a very special moment, and he said: "I've been here since I was eight years old and to have the opportunity to play for the first team is a dream come true."
He added: "I've always followed the Swans - my whole family are Swans supporters. My Dad and Mum are season ticket holders.
"It's great to be involved with the Swans especially the way things have been going at the moment. It couldn't come at a better time if I do get the chance to start."
Davies, who penned a new two-year contract in the summer, will provide competition for Neil Taylor and Angel Rangel, along with Jazz Richards and Curtis Obeng.
And with the increasing depth in the Swansea squad, Davies knows he needs to continue to work hard.
"I can't get lazy because you get caught out," he said. "I've just been working hard and I think that's shown in the improvement I've made this year.
"You have to be so switched on in training because even when Michael Laudrup joins in you think he could still compete at this level.
"My aim is to start games but even if I just train with the team every day, as long as I'm working hard."
