Bodde stepping up recovery
22 Jan 2009 - 13:28:29
Swansea City midfielder Ferrie Bodde is upbeat about the way his recovery from a serious knee injury is progressing.
The 26-year-old Dutchman has been sidelined since November, having suffered both cruciate ligament and cartilage damage against Birmingham City.
Bodde initially returned to his homeland to start his recuperation, but is now back with the Swans as he prepares to step up his recovery.
He told the club's official website: "I'm getting better every week. I spent the first four weeks on crutches and then two weeks in a brace and that slowed my rehab down a bit.
"But I can finally do some exercise now and am going on the bike and the treadmill so I'm happy with that and I'm looking forward to getting fit and strong as quick as possible.
"I found it hard to take what happened. It was a bad injury and I'm out for the rest of the season.
"But the first six weeks went quick and I hope that the next months will as well, so maybe I can surprise people and come back earlier, but my main priority is still next season."
