Bodde heads home after op
29 Nov 2008 - 10:26:36
Swansea City midfielder Ferrie Bodde has headed home to the Netherlands after undergoing surgery on the knee injury that has ended his season prematurely.
The 26-year-old was operated on in London, but will begin his rehabilitation under the watchful eye of the medical staff of his former club, Den Haag.
Swans physio Richie Evans told the South Wales Evening Post: "The surgeon was really pleased with the way the operation went.
"Repairing the cruciate ligament was straightforward, while Ferrie also had the tears in his cartilage patched up as well.
"Now he will spend the next few weeks rehabilitating back home in Holland with his family.
"The physio at Den Haag has agreed to keep a close eye on him, together with the team doctor and physio of the Dutch national team.
"They have a specialist centre out there like Lilleshall where he will get the best medical treatment possible. They have welcomed him in with open arms."
