Bdde wants Swans stay
Ferrie Bodde is keen to sign a new contract with Swansea as soon as possible and repay the faith shown in him during his injury nightmare. The midfielder, 28, has managed a total of just 84 minutes across four comeback matches since suffering his first cruciate ligament injury in November 2008, with his most recent return coming in February before he experienced more knee troubles.Bodde has largely been back in his native Holland recovering but returned to south Wales last week to meet up with Swans medical staff, and is due to move back permanently before the end of the year to step up his rehabilitation with a view to playing again before the season is out.But while he was here Bodde - who was in stunning form prior to his serial injury setbacks - held talks with chairman Huw Jenkins, with his current deal set to expire next summer. And he told the South Wales Evening Post: "I want to play for Swansea and be a part of the manager's plans. Of course, my contract finishes next year but I'm talking with the chairman and I hope soon we can get something agreed."I say that not just because I want my future cleared up, but because I want to show my appreciation to the club. The chairman, the manager, my team-mates, the staff at Swansea and also the fans - everyone has been very good and supportive to me through this tough time. If I can get on the pitch and play well for Swansea then maybe I can repay everyone."
