Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen has been ruled out for at least three weeks with a torn thigh muscle.

Allen, a Wales Under-21 international, was injured during the second half of last weekend's 3-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers.

"Joe has played a lot of football recently for such a young man," manager Roberto Martinez told the club's official website.

"And while it's disappointing to lose him for a few weeks, it's important that we use this time to make him a better and stronger player for the future."

Meanwhile, Martinez has confirmed that captain Garry Monk and striker Gorka Pintado have both returned to training following back and groin problems.
