Abbott backs Swans bid

Swansea City striker Pawel Abbott is confident that his side can mount a play-off charge after taking seven points from their last three games.

A run of five matches without a win had seen the Swans drop out of the top six, but they have now recovered to within a point of Blackpool, following a crucial 2-0 victory at Tranmere Rovers.

Abbott told the South Wales Echo: "A couple of weeks ago we were written off, but I think it's going to go right to the end of the season.

"We've got two home games now and our home form has definitely got to improve.

"Saying that, teams do come to the Liberty Stadium and they are happy with a draw. But it's up to us to break them down."
