Williams will not leave in January - agent

Ashley Williams is likely to stay at Swansea at least until the summer, according to his agent. Williams has stalled on agreeing a new contract with the Swans and although representative Jamie Moralee has stressed the in-demand defender is not looking for a move away from the Liberty Stadium in the January transfer window, the Welsh international may look to move on at the end of the season if Swansea fail to win promotion to the Premier League. "Ashley still has a lengthy contract at Swansea and in terms of this January window I can't see anything changing with him," Moralee told the South Wales Evening Post. "I see him 100% still being a Swansea player at the start of February. Ashley has been linked with a lot of clubs, but I think his attitude, along with that of the Swansea chairman and the Swansea manager, will be `let's get our heads down and try to get promoted'. "Then, if we fail as a team, maybe we will sit down and talk about the possibility of moving on to pastures new. If Swansea put Ashley up for sale tomorrow, he would be gone by Friday. "But they don't want to sell him and Ashley doesn't want to go. He loves Swansea and appreciates the chance they have given him in the Championship. He isn't putting in transfer requests and he wants to get promoted with them."
