Williams shocked by Swansea axe

The Wales international played every minute in the Championship campaign last season but sat out for the first time since they clinched the League One title at Brighton in May 2008 in the 1-0 victory against Nigel Pearson's side.[LNB]With captain Garry Monk now back after injury, Williams will have to work even harder to win his place back in boss Paulo Sousa's side.[LNB]He told the Western Mail: "I played every minute last year and I wanted to try to do likewise this season. It was a shock. The manager explained his reasons to me the day before the game and that should remain between me and him.[LNB]"He is the manager and he has to pick the team he thinks is best for that game. He thought that was the right team and the main thing is we won."[LNB]Williams added: "I want to play every game so, of course, I'm hoping I will get back in. My toys won't be coming out of the pram or anything like that because I've had worse to deal with than just missing one game."[LNB][LNB]
