Swans take Smith off Cardiff's hands

The Swans signed Kurtis March from the Bluebirds on Wednesday and have now added Smith to their academy set-up after he was not offered a new deal at Ninian Park. "I've been following Jordan's progress for a number of years," Swansea's Head of Youth Tony Pennock told his club's official site. "I first saw him play alongside Kurtis for Brynhyfryd Junior School and even back then the pair stood out. I've kept my eye on him ever since. "Football is all about opinion and Cardiff's loss will be our gain. He played two trial matched for us at youth level and I had no hesitation in offering him a scholarship with his home-town club. "I also know the Welsh under-17 manager, Brian Flynn, has been very impressed with him as well. I feel he has all the attributes we are looking for as a football club.
