Swans make Pilkington bid - reports

Swansea have made a bid of £3million for Norwich winger Anthony Pilkington, according to reports.

The Swans have been looking to bring in a winger during the January transfer window, and had been linked with moves for Blackpool's Tom Ince and Manchester United's Wilfried Zaha.

Injuries have also seen the Welsh club's resources stretched, with Nathan Dyer, Pablo Hernandez and Roland Lamah all spending time on the sidelines in January.

Republic of Ireland international Pilkington is out of contract in the summer and Norwich boss Chris Hughton has already brought in a wide player this month in the form of Newcastle's Jonas Gutierrez.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins had earlier this month denied an interest in Pilkington as the 25-year-old was injured, having been sidelined since November due to a hamstring problem.

The former Huddersfield man returned to action as a substitute in the Canaries' win over Hull last weekend and Swansea appear keen to bring him to the Liberty Stadium now he is back to fitness.
