Swans eye McDonald

Swansea are taking a close look at former Ipswich striker Dean McDonald who has been handed a trial. The 24-year-old, currently with Farnborough, will train with the Swans squad until Friday when he will return to play for his parent club in a friendly against Reading. The Londoner made his first-team debut for Ipswich aged 19 before a loan spell at Hartlepool was followed by a permanent move to Gillingham in 2006. McDonald later joined Inverness in the Scottish Premier League, but was restricted to just seven appearances.
