Serran was controversially shown a straight red card in the 17th minute of the Championship clash at the Liberty Stadium by referee Anthony Taylor for violent conduct after an alleged elbow by the Spaniard on Palace midfielder Neil Danns on the edge of the penalty area.[LNB]Swansea manager Paulo Sousa described Serran's sending off as "ridiculous" after the match and has confirmed the club have lodged an appeal after studying video footage of the incident.[LNB]Serran will sit out a three-game ban if referee Taylor's decision is upheld, starting with Saturday's FA Cup clash at Leicester.[LNB][LNB]
