Sousa seeks more goals from Swans
The Swans have now failed to score in their last three home games and, having failed to win in their last five games, are nervously peering over their shoulders as they seek to hold on to a Championship play-off spot.[LNB]The Championship's lowest scorers, with just 33 from 40 matches, enjoyed most of the possession but rarely troubled the visitors' goal.[LNB]And while Sousa was pleased to secure a point, he acknowledged they need to start taking their chances ahead of next Saturday's trip to bitter rivals Cardiff.[LNB]"Ipswich were well organised and our minds were not fresh so at the end of the game I am happy with a point," said Sousa.[LNB]"I am very glad that we are now through a difficult month and can refresh ourselves before next Saturday's derby at Cardiff.[LNB]"We need to be ready for them but we have shown we are a good side as we have been in the play-off positions for a long time.[LNB]"We now have 22 clean sheets this season to equal the club record but we must find more ways of scoring goals and we have the possibility of doing that during training this week.[LNB]"We want to create a strong foundation here and improve as a club and I'm very confident and happy that we will do just that."[LNB]Once Cedric van der Gun had crossed from the by-line and Nathan Dyer slid in to push the ball wide in the third minute, goal-mouth action was at a premium.[LNB]Ipswich set up to deny the Swansea midfield space and it worked as most of the play was in the middle of the park.[LNB]The Tractor Boys' first effort on goal came in the 39th minute when Grant Leadbitter found space only to fire straight at Swansea keeper Dorus De Vries.[LNB]Ipswich boss Roy Keane used only one substitute in Carlos Edwards as his team battled away for a welcome point to ease the pressure on the former Manchester United midfielder.[LNB]"We could have done more with the possession but our work rate was good and now we can look forward to next week," said Keane.[LNB]"We are disappointed that we never had a cutting edge but to keep a clean sheet is always good.[LNB]"We are looking for a bit more consistency as we have dropped a lot of points against teams near the bottom of the division and today we had to be a bit more negative to get anything out of this game."[LNB]It has been widely speculated that Keane could be replaced at Portman Road before the end of the season but he claims he has paid no attention to rumours about his future.[LNB]"Better managers than me have lost their jobs and if the board want to move me on then that is the name of the game, but I have a wife and five kids and I will be all right," he said.[LNB][LNB]
