Sinclair keen on Swansea stay

Swansea winger Scott Sinclair will sit down to discuss a new contract at the end of the season and "definitely" wants to continue his career in south Wales.

The former Chelsea man has scored seven goals in Swansea's maiden Barclays Premier League campaign to help the club to 10th place in the table. Sinclair still has a year to run on his current deal, but manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to secure his future after his performances reportedly attracted the attention of several other Premier League clubs.

Rodgers revealed last week that informal discussions had been held over the new deal, and Sinclair hopes to get everything ironed out at the end of the campaign. He said: "We are going to wait until the end of the season and discuss it then."

He added: "There are eight games to go and when we have played them we will talk then.

"I'm happy to be playing every week for a manager who believes in me and we will talk at the end of the season.

"It is definitely my preference to stay.

"The manager has brought me in, given me a chance and that is all I can ask for."
