Sinclair fails to prevent loss

Scott Sinclair failed to prevent England slipping to a 2-0 defeat in Germany on his Under-21 debut. The Swansea winger, who has been in scintillating form since his summer switch from Chelsea, started the friendly in Wiesbaden and enjoyed 66 minutes before being replaced by Ipswich`s Connor Wickham. It was a depleted England side who went down to defeat, with goalkeeper Jason Steele, who had only come on as a half-time substitute, given his marching orders just before the hour mark, leaving Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury to take his place. Sinclair will hope to have done enough to remain in boss Stuart Pearce`s thoughts for next summer`s Under-21 European Championship.
