The 30-year-old striker, who has been the Swans' leading scorer in the last two seasons since moving from St Johnstone, has been linked with a move to Wigan to link up with former City boss Roberto Martinez. His failure to travel to Portugal under new manager Paulo Sousa has added to speculation that he is set to depart the Liberty Stadium, but a club spokesman revealed that his absence was as a result of international commitments with Trinidad and Tobago. Scotland scored 24 goals for Swansea in the Championship last season and his agent admitted at the end of the campaign that his client was eager to try his hand in the Premier League. That appeared to subside, though, until Martinez left for Wigan last month with reports now heavily linking Scotland with a move to the JJB Stadium.
