Scotland: I had to leave Swans

The Trinidad and Tobago striker, who grabbed 24 goals for the Swans last term, is finalising his £2million move to the JJB Stadium and should officially link up with former boss Roberto Martinez in the coming days once he secures a new work permit. Expressing his feelings over the transfer, the 30-year-old told Swansea's official website: "It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League and I had to take my chance before it was too late. "I've had two great years with Swansea and I would like to thank the club for the opportunity they gave me. I think I've repaid them with goals, an achievement I'm very proud of. I am also very proud that I've helped Swansea City progress as a football club. "It was always going to be a tough job for me to follow in the footsteps of someone like Lee Trundle, who was a remarkable talent for Swansea. But I think in the end the majority of the fans had a lot of love for me. "I had a lot of love for them as well and I would like to thank those fans for their support. I was never going to please them all, but that's football for you."
