Rodgers upbeat despite defeat

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers felt defeat was harsh on his side after Norwich picked up a 2-0 win at Carrow Road. Canaries goalkeeper John Ruddy saved David Cotterill's spot-kick with six minutes remaining and it proved the turning point as an Ashley Williams own goal and a Simeon Jackson strike made Swansea pay the penalty. Rodgers said: "Performance wise it was very good so it was extremely disappointing to lose the game so late on. "I stayed on the pitch with the players after the final whistle because I could see in their faces just how disappointed they were. At the very least we deserved to take a point away from the game and I'm sure Paul Lambert would acknowledge that. "For the first 10-15 minutes their shape gave us a few problems but after that I thought we had good control of the game. Our passing and movement was excellent, we created chances but we just couldn't take them. "The ability to create chances is very important and we have got that. I like to win games, of course I do, but I also look at the performance and that was very pleasing. Anyone watching that game, except perhaps the Norwich fans, could see we were a team that will cause a few problems to opponents in this league."
