Rodgers salutes fantastic Swans

Brendan Rodgers hailed his "fantastic" Swansea side after they scored two late goals to beat managerless Scunthorpe 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium. The Swans looked to have lost their 100% home record against a well-organised Scunthorpe side, but late strikes from Scott Sinclair and Stephen Dobbie made it four home wins out of four in the npower Championship. The victory ensured the Welsh side occupy sixth place in the table and Rodgers was pleased with the manner in which his players stuck to the task against a side who had hammered Sheffield United 4-0 in midweek. The former Reading manager said: "The players were fantastic. We knew after Scunthorpe's result in midweek that it would not be an easy game. "They were set up well and we had to be patient but I'm delighted we kept knocking on the door. Perseverance is a key attribute in this league. "We had to change the game around a little bit tactically and instead of finishing 0-0, we have gone on to win the game."
