Rodgers impressed by Swans spirit
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers praised his side for surviving a late scare in their 3-2 npower Championship win at Watford.
Scott Sinclair's sixth goal in his last four games gave the Swans an early lead and Stephen Dobbie soon made it two on the half-hour before Frank Nouble's first senior goal midway through the second period looked to have secured Swansea their first away win since March in style.
But Watford rallied and got back into it when Troy Deeney headed home before Martin Taylor set up a grandstand finish with five minutes remaining.
The Hornets thought they had completed their comeback deep into stoppage time when John Eustace turned the ball home, but it was ruled out for offside and the Swans took the points back to Wales.
"I thought for 75 minutes we were outstanding. We were very good going forward, solid as a group and then obviously once Watford get the goal with 15 minutes to go you're asked different questions," Rodgers said.
"But I thought we stood up to that very, very well. Of course, you've got to defend that many balls into the box and that many bodies in and around the box, it becomes a war and a battle, but we stood up to it and got the points which I thought was thoroughly deserved."
