Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for Darren Pratley following the 1-0 win over Reading at the Liberty Stadium. The midfielder netted his fourth Championship goal of the season in the 65th minute when he found the bottom corner from 12 yards. Rodgers said: "Darren is terrific and it was a wonderful finish. We had worked to get Angel (Rangel) in around the back and it was a great ball and clever movement to get him free. "He headed across goal and it looked an easy finish but when you look at the replay again it's a strike of wonderful technique and great power. The goal will give Darren fantastic confidence. He's a player I have great belief in and he is the ultimate professional. "It would have been easy for me to throw him to the garbage because he hasn't signed a new contract, forget about him and play others. But it's very important in life that you feel valued. Hopefully he feels rewarded for that belief. It's what you have to do as a manager and show the players you care about them. "The other players love him here and he's a wonderful player. I'm really happy for him because I know how much it means to him to play for this club."
