The 28-year-old`s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, but he is in talks over extending his stay at the Liberty Stadium.
He told This is South Wales: "I said to the manager, I'm open to discuss a new contract, but my main job is playing football.
"The club have to speak to my agent and whatever happens, he will let me know.
"I said to the gaffer, I don't want to be thinking about negotiations because it's not my job.
"I'm happy to speak about a new contract, but so far, we are just in talks."
