Poyet 'interested' in Swansea post
The 41-year-old Uruguayan has admitted he is keen to replace Roberto Martinez at the Liberty Stadium.
"I would really be interested in the job," he told BBC Sport Wales.
"I would really like to go there, it would be a great opportunity."
Poyet has already spoken to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins, as have Sheffield United coach Gary Speed and Aidy Boothroyd.
Should Jenkins opt for Poyet, it would be the former Chelsea midfielder's first managerial position.
Jenkins is searching for a new manager after Martinez completed his move to Wigan on Monday.
