Monk unaffected by Sousa speculation

Monk spoke up after Paulo Sousa's name was linked with the vacant manager's position at Turf Moor, just months after the Swans lost Roberto Martinez to Wigan.[LNB]The defender admits it is no shock to see Sousa in the running, after Clarets boss Owen Coyle was placed on gardening leave while compensation is agreed with Bolton.[LNB]Monk told the Western Mail: "I'm sure it's flattering for the gaffer to be linked with a Premier League club. And it goes without saying the players want him to stay and be a part of what we're aiming to achieve here.[LNB]"But after what happened with Roberto and Wigan in the summer this speculation is nothing new to us and it's not going to affect us."[LNB]He added with regard to the possibility of Sousa leaving: "None of us want to see that happen because we don't want to go through all that upheaval again. But we will just take it for what it is - a great compliment to what's been achieved so far and we want that to carry on."[LNB][LNB]
