March makes move to Swansea
Schoolboy international Kurtis March, 15, turned down the Bluebirds' offer of a scholarship to sign for his home-town team. It is likely the Swans will have to pay compensation for March who is rumoured to have rejected approaches from Premier League teams. It is the first time the club has paid compensation for a trainee.
"Obviously we are all delighted to capture such an exciting prospect as Kurtis," said Tony Pennock, head of Swansea's youth set-up.
"Once we knew Kurtis had turned down Cardiff's offer of a scholarship we moved straight in. Although there was always interest from other clubs, I am pleased to say we were always his first choice."
March's father, Anthony, said he and his son had been very impressed by the set-up at Swansea and their plans for the future.
He told the club's official website: "There are exciting times ahead for the club, and being a local boy, Kurtis wanted to be a part of it."
