Jenkins wants loan market scrapped

With the Championship play-off contenders unlikely to bring in any players on the last day of the loan transfer window, Jenkins has revealed he does not agree with the system, despite the fact his club have benefited from it in the past by signing players such as Nathan Dyer and Jordi Gomez. "Personally, I'm not in favour of having a loan market at all," Jenkins told the Swansea Evening Post. "The only people it really benefits are the bigger clubs who are loaning these players out. "Yes, clubs like ours get the use of them for a few months or a season but, when you weigh things up, I would rather not have the players at all because I don't think it's good for football. "We have seen it at Swansea and at various clubs around the country. Players go on loan and improve and the only people who benefit are their owners. "Having these loan players then makes it harder for younger, local players to come through. These are my views, but I can't force them on our club. But I think the quicker the loan system stops, the better."
