Under-fire Swansea manager Garry Monk has described club chairman Huw Jenkins as "extraordinary" in given him his full backing during the club's poor run of form.
Swansea have slipped from the top four to 14th and only five points above the relegation zone after winning just once in nine Barclays Premier League games.
That run has put Monk under increasing pressure, with some reports over the last few weeks claiming the 36-year-old former Swans captain was on the brink of the sack.
But Monk, speaking ahead of Sunday's league visit to Liverpool, said Jenkins had full faith in what he was doing to bring about a change of fortunes at the Liberty Stadium.
"The word trust is something that's clear from him," Monk said.
"He trusts how I work and he's seen the success, that what I've brought to the club has worked in the past.
"He knows that we can get through this period if we're all united.
"He's given me his full backing, he's been extraordinary and he knows how it works.
"He knows the process that we're going through and he knows that unity is the only way through it."
Last term, in his first full season in charge, Monk guided Swansea to their best Premier League finish of eighth with a record points tally.
He was even touted as a future England manager after Swansea climbed into the top four at the end of August by beating Manchester United 2-1 at home.
But Swansea have been almost in free-fall ever since, with their only subsequent victory coming in a 2-1 win at bottom-placed Aston Villa in late October.
Monk, however, insists his relationship with Jenkins remains as strong as ever, saying: "I speak to the chairman every single week.
"We talk about performances, we talk about players, we talk about transfers.
"I've had great communication with the chairman and, when I have my discussions with him, he's extraordinarily supportive.
"We wouldn't be the first club to go through a difficult time, but it's about trusting what I do here."
Monk remains convinced that one or two positive results will change the mood at Swansea as he has been encouraged by some performances in recent weeks.
But Swansea have a demanding pre-Christmas fixture list, with home games against leaders Leicester and West Ham and a trip to Manchester City following the visit to Anfield.
"One or two results changes things very quickly in football and you'll see the players trying to get them," Monk said.
"Of course, results are the be all and end all in this league.
"Everything else that comes out is speculation from people who don't know us and don't know how we work.
"It's normal to have the chairman and the board talk about performances and talk about football in general.
"We know full well what needs to be improved and how we go about that as a group.
"The only opinions that matter are those that of the club, those that are in control of what happens at Swansea City and not outside influences."
