Francesco Guidolin hopes he is still at Swansea next season to renew acquaintances with Pep Guardiola in the Barclays Premier League.
Guidolin visited Munich last season and saw Bayern boss Guardiola take a training session before watching the German champions play a Bundesliga match at the Allianz Arena.
And the 60-year-old Italian, who has an option to extend his Swansea contract beyond the end of this season, says he would like to come up against Guardiola following this week's announcement that the Spaniard will take over at Manchester City next season.
"Last year I went to Munich to see a Bundesliga match - Bayern against Bayer Leverkusen," Guildolin said.
"I also saw training with Pep and he was very kind, but he needs no advice from me.
"He's an important manager and I am very happy for him to come to the Premier League and to play Swansea.
"M aybe next season all the most important managers will be in the Premier League."
Guidolin has taken four points from his first two games in charge - a 2-1 win at Everton and a 1-1 draw at West Brom - to give Swansea some breathing space at the bottom.
Swansea are now five points above the final relegation place filled by Newcastle, and back-to-back home games against Crystal Palace and Southampton provide them with an opportunity to pull further clear of trouble.
"This is a very important moment for us," Guidolin said ahead of his first home game against Palace on Saturday.
"But we have to think match by match and day by day.
"My team is a good team when we play and we are passing the ball.
"But sometimes we lose our best quality and I hope to improve this.
"It's important to be aggressive and have the possibility to play with our style."
Guidolin was denied a second straight win at West Brom on Tuesday night when Albion striker Salomon Rondon bundled home an equaliser from an injury-time corner.
Swansea had chances to put the game beyond Albion at 1-0 and Italian striker Alberto Paloschi struck a post.
"I am very happy with my team but I ask them to be clinical in the last 30 metres," Guidolin said.
"Sometimes we prepare the situation to finish but we need more determination.
"I speak to my players about this and I have the confidence that the team will take points.
"Every day when we work it's a better feeling for me."
