Flynn backing for Welsh youngsters

The Dragons claimed a shock 2-1 victory over Italy's U21 side at the Liberty Stadium on Friday. Swansea's contingent against the Azzuri included captain Shaun Macdonald and substitutes David Cornell, Jazz Richards and Casey Thomas. Daniel Alfei was on the stand-by list and Joe Allen watched from the stands after being ruled out through injury. Flynn has called on those fringe players to keep pressing for a first-team jersey in his squad. "There are other youngsters in Jazz Richards, Adam Matthews and Aaron Morris who are waiting to come in," he told the South Wales Evening Post. "The production line must not stop now and we must push the older players. We need to get the even younger one's saying 'I'm after your place'. That's what the current job is and they will."
